First thing first, thank you for sharing your thoughts.You’ve cited Jacques Ellul in one of your posts on Substack. The quote stuck and I’m looking for the book / interview where he said “fate operates when people give up”. Would you know where it is from?

I am sorry for replying to this comment four months later. Obviously, I don’t check my blog comments often enough. I believe the quotation comes from Ellul’s “In Season, Out of Season.” The English-language publication of that book was 1982. Good luck and hope you see this. And thank you for reading!
