Taught three sections/year for first-year writing program. Excellent student and peer evaluations. Served on textbook-revision subcommittee. Contributed to in-house English 102 textbook.
2009-2011
MURAP Writing Coordinator, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
Gave individualized tutoring and weekly writing workshops for 10-week program designed to increase minority admission and retention in graduate programs. Created curricular materials for use in future iterations of Moore Undergraduate Research Assistantship Program (MURAP).

Taught 2-1 load for CCCC-award-winning first-year writing program.
SERVICE WORK & HONORS
2010-2011 Created and operated promotional blog for the book Razor Wire Women (SUNY Press, 2011), an edited volume of writing by, about, and for women working with the arts in prison.
Served as vestry clerk for St. Titus’ Episcopal Church.
2007-2010 Member of Curriculum Revision Committee for University of South Carolina’s First-Year English program. Suggested readings, discussion questions, paper assignments, and homework activities for course reader, all of which were adopted.
Read manuscripts for Yemassee, the literary journal of the University of South Carolina-Columbia.
Reviewed manuscripts for special issue of The Journal of the Conference of Christianity and Literature devoted to novelist/essayist Marilynne Robinson.
Received Two Thumbs Up award for “making a difference in the education of a student with a disability” by Delta Alpha Pi, an honors society for students with disabilities.
Participated in planning for English 101 curricular overhaul and revisions.
Led poetry-writing workshops for Columbia-area high school students.
2003-2006 Initiated and led book club at Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility.
Served two terms with Americorps.
Active in Amnesty International-St. Paul.
